Björn Türoque = Dan Crane: a writer and musician currently living in New York.
BIO
Dan Crane writes about music, food and culture for Slate.com, the LA Times, The New York Times, TimeOut New York and anyone else who'll let him. He also sings and plays bass in the faux French pop band, Nous Non Plus. Most notable, perhaps, is his two-year career as a competitive air guitarist. Performing under the stage name “Bjorn Turoque,” Crane has appeared in segments on CNN, Last Call with Carson Daly, and Fox & Friends. He’s played air guitar in a music video and in a short film, and is a principal subject of a documentary that was shot covering the US Air Guitar Competitions of 2003-2004. He is currently writing a book about this experience, titled “To Air is Human: The Rise and Fall of Bjorn Turoque -- The True Tale of One Man’s Quest to become the World’s Greatest Air Guitarist.” (book will be published by Riverhead Books in August, 2006).
Crane also makes music for people to listen to. Lookout! Here comes some now...
